One animal specie that will never make it to the ark...

As much as I love pets in general, there are some species I have never felt the need to own. Peacocks are definitively a most amazingly beautiful animal, but knowing what they sound like and how early they awaken in the morning, I have known for many decades that I would never follow the expat cue and get myself these large birds!

And with the bird flue warnings that are alerted in Niger on a regular basis, I will even postpone getting myself some hens... Perhaps in the end, Anette and I will stick to our horses, our dog(s) and our potential goats.

I haven't been here for a couple of days so I have been missing alot again. It seems that I have a hard time to keep up with you...

I guess that the horses, dog(s) and goats are a good start. But you never know... ;o)

Haha, Nettus, and all this time I thought I was the biggest animal fan! Oh well, I'm open for suggestions as long as they are inexpensive and do not disturb my precious sleep! Which is one of the reasons I will not hurry to get myself a stallion... Have you ever heard them calling out when the mares are on heat???
Besides, our guard dog(s) are 50% hunters. Getting them a peacock will be a nice but short lived pleasure...

You forgot the cats! I've always liked the idea of a pet pig.

I'm not a cat person Beaman, you will have to forgive me! In fact, I even train my dog to go cat hunting when I was younger. She would chase the poor thing up the tree and then I would water it with the hose. Never understood really why the cat kept coming back but maybe it's a myth that cats don't like to bath?

Someone told me that goats can make a lot of noise so I think we will maybe move them so they are not outside my window... :o1
